Flesh Collective was founded by Aaron Jeffrey in 2012 and explores cross-collaberative approachs to create dance and physical theatre as a hive of interdiciplinary production (HIP)
Mission
Flesh Collective believe that the most intimate and immediate medium to express through is the body and aims to explore what it is to be.
Through dance, performance, choreography, video, public intervention and experimentation as a hybrid way of being, Flesh Collective explores with in depth insight the human condition with an open multidisciplinary approach.
Flesh Collective strive to evolve the perceptions of performance through multiple artistic endeavors, with the penetration of the fourth wall, site-specific performance, film, installation and merging artistic practices to create hybrid forms developing a highly creative and inspirational cross-collaborative approach towards what performance is and can be.

Tramp Dance...
Any spare moves pal? As part of the Citymoves Dance Agencies 100 dances/ 100 days project.
Performed on the streets of Aberdeen, the notion for this site-speci!c piece is to act as an out of work dancer or choreographer looking to the streets, begging for new moves to create new work.
The character portrayed is that of a street urchin/ homeless person looking to improve their situation.
The resulting performance/improvisation would provide the passers by that are willing to give their time to the project the opportunity to influence the outcome.
These performances become the beginning sketches for future projects and performances.
These performances were free and happened upon in various locations within Aberdeen city centre, through

Infinity vessels - An exploration of space within the body and the space that the body can consume, the infinite capacity and memory of space that is contained within or occupies the mind. Memory of place in space and time, collected and etched in or on our being, manifested as memory and movement, infinite space confined to one place. Flesh Collective explore the infinite possibilities that simultaneously exist and investigate the mind - body - divide - connection. This multi-disaplinary performance calls upon dance, physical theatre and video based work to crate a unique experience. Photo credit - Sid Scott

M Phase
A video sketch inspired by the notion of the mind/body, connection/divide or dualism.
Layering concepts of different understandings or notions of existence, the physicality of being, for example the cellular at base level, to the existentialist awareness of being aware of existing. Also the concept of being metaphysical, to exist without material form or substance, to be incorporeal. Existing in multiple different states simultaneously, physical/metaphysical or phasing in and out of alignment with an awareness of being in every state or dualism where human beings embody two parts as body and soul. To exist in actuality with the knowledge of external concepts such as abstract thought, awareness of identity and relative spacial relationships. Youtube

Re-Fr-action
A Dance, Photographic and Film project influenced by the notion of -
Refraction - The change in direction of a propagating wave (light or sound) when it passes through one substance to another.
Re - From the Latin meaning again or again and again, to indicate repetition or backwards motion.
Fr - The chemical symbol for Francium, an extremely rare and unstable element that can not exist in any visible quantity due to it's extreme nature. If any visible quantity could exist it would appear as a highly reflective metal and would have the highest equivalent weight of any element.
Action - A movement or series of movements in a state of process as in doing or acting in a manner of activity. Youtube
