Just Another Dog Barking (work in progress)
Performing at Dance Base as part of the Heads Up performance platform during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A programme of invited artists, offering surprises and high-quality dance diversions that show off fresh ideas
Just Another Dog Barking is influenced by what has been made and learned to date through Aaron’s practice, forming new narratives. The common thread being himself, his aesthetic and interest in cross art forms that will at some point to some degree be put on display.
Asking the question:
What it is that he has been barking about?

Polleniser
July
Performing with Oceanallover as part of Surge Festival
The movement of pollen across the landscape is a beautiful but easily overlooked natural phenomenon; an oversight thankfully redressed by Polleniser. Costumed performers take to the air and embody the swirling, dancing spores on their ceaseless, cyclical narratives of generation and migration. The physical forms of the plants and the creative uses of their pigment provide the basis for an abstracted tale of discovery and loss, which progresses through places and bodies, using performance, costume and music to bring the natural world to life.

Tramp Dance... Any spare moves pal?
Performed on the streets of Aberdeen, the notion for this site-speci!c piece is to act as an out of work dancer or choreographer looking to the streets, begging for new moves to create new work.
The character portrayed is that of a street urchin - homeless person looking to improve their situation.
The resulting performance - improvisation would provide the passers by that are willing to give their time to the project the opportunity to influence the outcome.
These performances become the beginning sketches for future projects and performances.
These performances were free and happened upon in various locations within Aberdeen city centre, through Citymoves Dance Agency

Polleniser
Performing throughout Scotland for various large scale outdoor events and festivals as character and dance artist for the Oceanallover productions of Pollen and Wynden.
Pollen looks at a series of locations and the journeys that connect them, each place and each route is explored through dance and costume.
Wynden is a large sculptural intervention that invites audience and public into a physical and emotional action. It is a metaphor for journeys that we all make and a symbol for regeneration through constant change. The limbs, leaves, roots and fruit of the tree are all represented through costume music and dance.
