Antigone Ballads Before Butchery
9th-13th of November R&D residency with Florencia Garcia Chafuén. Working on Antigone Ballads Before Butchery. A vivid and vibrant presentation based on the greek tragedy of the same name incorporating drama, dance and music. I was a part of the development of the Chorus, in a Greek tragedy a chorus of dancers who performed in an orchestra. The chorus, like a tidal wave of music and text coming in and out the stage with intense precision and delivery. Florencia Garcia Chafuen

July-August I was awarded a place on the Shawbrook week long residential in Longford southern Ireland. I was working with Michael Langeneckert for Brook Dance 15, exploring and discussing movement in motion and choreographic ideas.

This inter-disciplinary project offers an interpretation of the principles of chaos theory, finding connections between the mathematical patterns we find ourselves surrounded by in nature and science, along with the recurring patterns we can be drawn towards in our relationships with others.

This research and development period, we explored the relationships between body and sound with the potential of performance, site specific work or installation from the material that we have collected. We collaborated with a focus on a cross-art-form structure which will oscillate between sound and movement, detailing similarities and differences, how one art form can stimulate another, and their potential to co-exist or operate independently.
4x4 Dance, Body & the Environment

I was selected as one of ten Scottish based artists for a Creative Scotland bursary to attend the Bodysurf Scotland 4x4 LAB, Dance, Body and Environment residential.
Working in non-theatre based locations and challenging environmental contexts, creating in response to the pressing need to evolve our relationship with the natural environment.
The residency was split between the Findhorn foundation eco village and Earth Connections on the Isle of Eigg.

ASCUS micro residency
February- I was one of ten Scottish based artists selected to work in the lab alongside researchers investigating Huntington's Disease.
Art Science Collaborative explores new ways of engaging with science through partnerships between artists and scientists.
Through ASCUS I worked with Scientists from the Chamberlain Lab in the University of Strathclyde Learning and actively participating in experiments such as isolating proteins from a DNA strand.
The result was exhibited in a final show Emerge and at the Glasgow Science Festival.
